A Letter to Our Supporters,

Operation Troop Support sends out a very special “Thank You” to those people who have come forward over the past year to show the troops and their families how much America cares.

Over the past 12 months, thousands of care packages were sent to the war zone, the combat support hospitals, and the US military hospitals on a continuous basis to help raise the morale of our soldiers.

Monthly support group meetings brought knowledgeable experts in to educate our family members
and friends on what to expect when their loved one returned from war, and how best to cope with
the changes that accompanied their return.

Over 21,000 individually wrapped Christmas and Hanukkah gifts were sent in December, along with
over 30,000 Christmas Cards to units all across the world.

We brought the troops’ message to the American public through speaking engagements at civic club
meetings, church gatherings, school activities, political events, and business luncheons.

We brought a wounded warrior home to see his sick family member, and we raised money for the
family of a wounded soldier who had been very seriously injured in Afghanistan.

To those who gave us the names of deployed soldiers and allowed us to help their loved one, we say thank you;

To those who donated items, time, or money to help us carry out our mission, we say thank you;

For those who have not worked with us, we invite you to be a part of an organization who cares. Our pride in America is eclipsed only by our devotion to those men and women who put on the nation’s uniform and say “Don’t worry, we’ll protect you”. These brave servicemen and women deserve our help, and you all can play a part in seeing that they get it.

Thursday, April 19th		Our monthly family meeting will feature a guest speaker from the Veterans Administration who currently deals with the returning soldiers. She will specifically discuss efforts to improve their education.
Saturday, May 12th 9:30am - 2:00pm Danvers Town Hall 1 Sylvan Street, Danvers, MA		Join Operation Troop Support for a Plant Sale at the Danvers Town Hall. Come shop for plants between the hours of 9:30am - 2:00pm on Saturday, May 12th.
Thursday, May 17th		We will feature a panel of 4 attorneys who are well versed in the legal issues facing the military veterans. The four topics will deal with Financial Issues facing the military family, Reintegration emotional issues involving the families and the veteran, Housing issues regarding homes, leases, etc, and VA issues, including attacking the delays in resolving your issues. This panel will be available to answer questions from the audience.
Saturday, June 16th 11am-3pm Birch Meadow Area Reading, MA		Reading Family Day!
Saturday, June 16th 12 noon - sunset Village Training Field Centre Street, Danvers, MA		Highlands Folk Festival & Bean Supper. Music all afternoon, Bean Supper from 4 to 6PM ($5.00/Person).
Thursday, June 28th		Our monthly Family meeting will feature a guest speaker from the Veterans Adminstration who will speak on Anger Management, one of the most prevalent impacts of the deployments on our soldiers during their re-integration process.
Saturday, August 11th		August 11th, Bike Run for the Troops, American Legion Post 227, 69 River Street, Middleton, MA (Click here for flyer). Registration will take place fro 9:00AM to 11:00AM, and kickstands up at 11:00AM. Following a 50 mile run, which will end at the Post, there will be a cookout for the participants and all other guests. The event is open to everyone. The afternoon will encompass the cookout, a Raffle, including a 50/50 raffle, a bake sale, and the sale of OTS Bike run T-Shirts. Cost is $20.00 per rider, which includes the price of a shirt. For all passengers and all other participants, a $10 entrance fee covers the cost of the food, but additional shirts will be on sale for these people who wish to purchase them. This Bike Run will be a major fundraiser for OTS this year, and we are eagerly looking for sponsors. Each Sponsor's name or logo will be placed on the bike run shirts, and if you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please click here for the application.
